Details: Amazon.ca As its title suggests, First Decade documents essential April Wine material from 1972 through '78. The 18-song disc not only includes classic tunes from this period but four previously unreleased tracks. One of these--"It's a Pleasure to See You Again," originally deemed too soft by the band and set aside--kicks off the set. From there the songs flow chronologically, from the funky "Bad Side of the Moon" to soulful power ballad "Comin' Right Down on Top of Me," with plenty of great moments in between. Of particular note are three songs--"Baby It's You," "Somebody Like You," and "Am I in Love"--that were originally recorded for singer Myles Goodwyn's proposed solo album in 1977. Though that album was eventually scrapped in favour of a new April Wine disc, these songs offer a glimpse of the lighter material Goodwyn was working on, and they fit surprisingly well with the harder-edged stuff anchoring this collection. --Adem Tepedelen Product Description April Wine
